Advanced Foods

Mrs. Broadbent

 

Students in Advanced Foods will be learning advanced cooking techniques to all kinds of foods. There will be an emphasis on food safety and sanitation, food service management, and customer service.  Students will learn more in depth food science, nutrition, and healthy options.  The class will explore career opportunities in the food industry.  Student teams will be competing in culinary competitions when available.

  • Lunch Foods and Salads

  • Meats and Marinades

  • Pasta and Sauces

  • Desserts

    • Chocolate

    • Meringues

    • Pies

    • Cakes

    • Candies

    • Pastries

  • Food Science Product Development

  • Final: Chef Challenge

 

Students will be graded on assignments, participation, tests, quizzes and labs.

The final will be a Top Chef challenge
