Child Development

Child development is a one semester elective class. Students will be learning about children, parenting, families, prenatal development, birth, the first few years of life, issues related to childcare and careers in the human development field. The class will be given “Think It Over Babies” during the semester to simulate parenting a newborn. Students will have an opportunity to do a field study and observe children at the Scio Preschool Cooperative in doing this they will be learning about the development of preschoolers and the role of a parent and preschool teacher.
