College Credit Now

College Credit is offered in three classes in Family and Consumer Science Through LBCC:

Child Development: 3 credits Early Childhood Education

Cadet Teaching: 6 credits in Early Childhood Education

Foods 2: 1 credit in the Culinary Arts, Safety and Sanitation.

 

The College Credit Now (CCN) program offers college credit to high school students who take classes At the high school that are articulated  and aligned with Linn Benton Community College.  There is a one time $25.00 fee paid  by the Scio School District that allows Scio High School students to enroll and earn college credit for classes offered  and taken at Scio High School.  There are a wide variety of CCN classes offered at Scio in Agriculture, Forestry, Englich Language Arts, Math, Spanish, and Family and Consumer Science.  All students who earn credit will have an academic record or trascript through Linn Benton Community College.  The CCN program allows students to get a head start on college classes while still enjoying high school.

P.A.C.E. – Stands for Promoting Accelerated College Entry and is a pilot project implemented in partnership with the Oregon Department of Education, Linn Benton Community College, Chemeketa Community College, The Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development.
    Students in the PACE program may attend Scio High School for three or more years and then attend a community college of their choice potentially graduating with an Advanced Diploma from Scio High School and ahead of their cohort for an Associates Degree.
    The Scio School District provides bus transportation to LBCC tuition and books, the student pays for supplies and specialty equipment.
    The minimum entry requirements into the program are a 3.0 High School GPA and completion of their CIM requirements.
